If you don’t have a lot of space but want to keep fresh herbs on hand try growing herbs in mason jars. Look for mason jars at thrift stores and garage sales for a steal.
What you will need:
~ herbs from starts or start your own with herb seeds
~ a glass cutting drill bit and electric drill (recommended)
What to do:
~ first drill one or two holes into bottom of mason jar for drainage so herbs do not get water-logged.
~ fill jar 2/3 of the way up with potting soil
~ place sprouted herb in jar and fill remaining space with soil
~ water as directed on herb packaging
~ remember to control sun and shade periods for each herbs specific needs
And there you have it growing herbs in mason jars = space, time and money savings.
